Ortega Highway - CA 74

Ortega Highway would be one of the greats if it didn't have traffic. Hit this one early on a Saturday or Sunday (dawn) if you want to get a clean run. Fast sweepers with a few tight, technical sections make this a lot of fun.

On the other hand, if you're try it during normal hours, you're going to hate your life because this is used heavily by commuters from Elsinore and Temecula on their way to work in South Orange County. Avoid at all costs during rush hours on weekdays.

Road surface is mixed with some great sections and some poor sections. Overall it's pretty okay. There are some nice views of Lake Elsinore on the way down that grade and some pretty canyon scenes on the Orange County side.
